  • We have Been thinking of ways to be even more sustainable in our work. While we already employ sustainability practices, there's always this one thing that has been always picking at my brain...How can we put to use the pounds and pounds of resin soaked spruce and pine bark thar we have to throw away on a monthly basis?
An all natural byproduct produced from the beautiful chewing gums, soaps and balms that I make, I thought to myself, there has to be something more that we can do instead of just tossing it.

And my husband and I came up with an idea! Something that we often use already in the bush to start our fires, why not make ..... fire starter!!!!

And so we did! We have little bags if the BEST Firestarter that you can get! Each piece of bark is THOROUGHLY SOAKED  in a thick coating of spruce resin. The resin hardens onto the bark, making each piece perfect to use to start a fire.

All it takes is a match. The resin will immediately catch on fire, and continually burn with a thick flame, making this perfect for starting fires in the winter, or the summer. The resin is 100% waterproof, and so even if your location is damp, your piece will catch on fire. Resin is extremely flammable, making it the perfect tool in your camping Firestarter kit.

Each mesh bag contains 40 grams of resin soaked bark.
