Discovered deep in the dense boreal forest of Alberta, these impressive tinder conks were harvested from a single, fallen birch giant. The tree—weathered and ancient—hosted a community of over 15 large polypores. Out of deep respect for the land, I hand-harvested only a select few, ensuring minimal disturbance to the ecosystem.

These conks are perfect for artisans, wildcrafters, and traditional crafters interested in Amadou—a natural felt made from the inner layer of these fungi. Historically used in fire-starting and hat-making, Amadou is known for its soft, pliable texture once processed.
